Fridtjof Nansen

Norwegian explorer, scientist, diplomat and humanitarian Fridtjof Nansen is today remembered not only for winning a Nobel Prize for peace, but also for establishing several bases in the frozen Arctic that helped all future explorers who wanted to reach the North Pole.
